Recently I have built a test lab with Windows 8.1 with Client Hyper‑V, because I could not connect the domain controller to my company network I did not have access to Internet or any other network. So I have needed to get the VMsupdates from Internet behind VMnet8 (NAT).
Windows 8.1 with Client Hyper‑Vdoes not offer an Advanced NAT Configurationyet. Instead the VMnet8network adapter can connect VMs to a LAN using a private IP network between the VM guest and the host computer. In addition, VMware Virtual Network Editor provides a DHCP Server in this virtual private NAT network. The DHCPrange for the NATvirtual network is 192.168.220.0-254 with the host virtual adaptor being 192.168.220.1 and all guest VMsusing the NAT network pulling IP addresses from the VMware DHCP Server.
